RegConnect24 Wrap Up

On Tuesday, 22 October 2024, MTAA hosted the inaugural RegConnect24 event – the first full-day regulatory event dedicated to the MedTech regulatory community.
Presented with TGA, RegConnect24 addressed questions and challenges from the regulatory community with focused conversations on recent reforms, international collaboration, software & AI regulations, audit framework & approval timelines, digital transformation, real-world evidence and UDI.
The event also announced the launch of RegConnect – an online platform for the Australian regulatory community. The new initiative launched by MTAA empowers students and professionals to connect with members, join discussion groups, and access exclusive resources with more features available in the near future.

The Technology Arena showcased a range of emerging and innovative technology, which piqued the interest of both attendees and TGA. The arena presented live demonstrations and case studies spurring discussion on their regulatory journey and showing appreciation for the important role of the regulator in safely enabling suppliers to innovative life-saving technology.









Ten innovative MedTech suppliers showcased their technology at RegConnect24.
The event concluded with an exciting and entertaining debate, with mixed teams from TGA and industry answering the question, “Would Robots make better regulators?”
Overall, RegConnect24 was an aspiring and encouraging exchange of ideas and options from both industry and the regulator. Transparency and a continuous collaborative partnership with Industry were the values demonstrated and reminded.
